Yellowstone 2009

This summer we went to Yellowstone for a family vacation. We had so much fun! Tristan was only 3 weeks old, but absolutely perfect. All he did was eat and sleep. Annika and Micah had a fun time as well. We saw more elk than buffalo, which I thought was strange. We also saw a black bear, a grizzly bear, an osprey, and a deer. We were lucky to see the bears and didn't think we were going to. The night before we saw them, we had family prayers and Annika was saying them. She prayed that we would see a bear. The next day while driving through the park, Ryan disappointingly said that he didn't think we were going to see a bear this time, Annika said, "But Dad I said a prayer that we would see one!" As we drove around the next corner, Ryan spotted a black bear. (Sometimes I think children have more faith than we do!)Posted by Picasa

How fun, I am glad you got to see a bear...I would probably be praying not to see one! :)

I LOVE the power of prayer -- it's real, even when it's for a bear. Glad you had fun.
Thanks for the fun party at the park yesterday --- we're a good group, even if we are a little(or a lot) crazy!:)

We are glad you had a good time at Yellowstone Park. It is truly an amazing place, and the faithof a little girl can teach us all a lesson. Sincere prayers are aswered. We were praying that little Tritan would be alright on the trip. It's not every three week old baby who has made a trip with his family to Yellowstone.

Love you all and always,

Grandpa Bart
